A collection of antique Val St Lambert paperweights/sulphides c.1880-1900. The name sulphide comes from the use of sulphur in the early manufacturing of these artistic gems in the late 19th century. The sulphide within is usually made from a glass paste and/or clay (ceramic) material that is completely encased within the glass. Most have inclusions in the glass which is quite common. A wonderful decorative accent for the desk, coffee table or used as bookends.
