A set of eight authentic French Gien Majolica Artichoke plates, dating back to the 1960s. These plates feature leaf, scroll and artichoke motifs and were specifically designed for serving artichokes, asparagus, shrimp, hors d’oeuvres, or appetisers. Each plate is contoured to hold a dipping sauce as well as the presentation of other food varieties. In perfect condition, these plates are a reissue of a late 19th century model by Gien. All the plates are stamped with the GIEN FRANCE mark, featuring their distinctive castle logo. All the plates are in excellent condition. Gien, a prestigious manufacturer established in the Loire Valley over 200 years ago, remains a renowned name in fine ceramics to this day.
