A superb pair of French Charles X period fire-gilded two light candlesticks c.1830 in finely chiselled gilded bronze. Cupid boys (also called loves) support the top foliate candlestick shaft to support two candles which have removeable wax plates. The candlestick base has rich classicist relief decoration and a face “mascaron” to the centre and reverse of each base
