$850.00
Napoleon III religious dome with an “old Paris” porcelain statue of Madonna surrounded by arch of silk flowers.
For practical reasons artificial flowers begun to take prominence in these arrangements and additional decorative ornaments became popular: in 1830, the orange tree flower was used as a symbol of virginity. This ornamental dome would then be displayed in a public part of the house.
These devotional domes are also being used in interior design today as interesting and quirky design features and are a real talking point for any home or boudoir!
