An English early 18thC japanned chest of drawers, originally from a chest on stand and later converted with bracket feet

The surfaces are decorated in a relaxed pattern of figures, birds and flowers, in gilded raised gesso
on a black background in imitation of Oriental lacquer work. Configured as three short drawers above three of full width with slightly later brass furniture, all oak construction with slender
drawer sides and front to back drawer bases. c.1710 – 1730.
