An Italian blue and green Murano glass triangular ashtray, also known as an “empty pocket,” from the Sommerso Series. Crafted on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by Arte Nuova during the 1950s and 60s. While unmarked, this design is recognised online with a label that reads “Arte Nuova Murano, Pustetto & Zanetti, Made in Italy.” It features a stunning blend of blue glass encased in uranium yellow-green glass, all further enveloped in clear glass, showcasing the intricate Sommerso technique developed in Venice. Under UV light, it emits a vibrant green glow.
