These collectible transfer printed plates are part of the Boch La Louvriere series of plates dedicated to the different battles of Napoleon. Four “N’s” are surrounded by laurel wreaths and military decorations, alternating with a motif of the emperor’s hat and sword. Boch was established in Belgian La Louvière (Keramis) in 1844.By 1855, the award-winning company was employing 300 workers at Keramis and 100 more in the Tournai (Boch Freres) factory. The company continued to be a highly-respected powerhouse in the ceramics industry until the 1970s. They struggled along until 1985 when bankruptcy was declared.
