$695.00
Two rare pairs of English antique glove stretchers in the form of hands with turned handles. They are crafted from beech, circa 1890 -1900. These freestanding moulds are made from three interlocking segments which slot together to facilitate drying gloves after washing. Leather gloves for example were difficult to wash as they would shrink and wrinkle, so these dryer segments would slide in separately to maintain their shape as they dried. Great sculptural decorative pieces and fun to hang jewellery from. One pair slightly larger than the other. (Ex voto shown has been sold). Price stated is for a pair.
