A wonderful quality 19th century English Sarcophagus-shaped tea chest with the original glass sugar bowl, veneered in flame Mahogany. Four turned ribbed feet, two wooden ring handles and a mother-of-pearl escutcheon. The lid reveals two matching removable tea caddies with tin interiors sitting either side of the original sugar bowl within a felt-lined compartment. An antique silver tea caddy spoon is enclosed WM.IV SILVER CADDY SPOON Exeter 1836 by John Osment. No key present. (An identical tea caddy just sold on First Dibs for $3300.00 NZD).
