$2,950.00
A 19th century antique papier-mâché terrestrial globe by ‘J.Lebegue & Cie, 30 Rue de Lille, Paris’.
The cast iron patinated bronze base from lost wax casting depicts 3 masks supported by feet marked LB.
In addition to the finely represented territorial map, ocean currents and the main trade routes of that period are shown.
The globe shows Rhodesia in Africa this suggests the globe is dated post 1895 and Norway does not seem to be independent from Sweden so most likely pre 1905.
