Chateauneuf-Du-Pape painted metal grape harvesting Hotte c.1900 from the Chateaneuf-du-Pape wine region of France (one has sold).
Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a historic town in the South of France which means ‘new castle of the Pope’ and the town was chosen as the new home of the Pope of Avignon’s court in the 14thc.
This piece has vineyard crest (later painted) and also the original carrying straps on the reverse.
The carrier is ideal as a stand alone decorative item but also could be used as storage pieces for logs, papers etc.
