19th century English mahogany adn rosewood marquetry spinnet with a brass label of the maker James Nutting
Made by James Nutting, 92 Dean Street, London. This converted spinnet has four turned and fluted legs with the makers name engraved on a brass name-boards plate.
The elaborate regency casework is in mahogany and has round front corners with brass inlay. The four turned and fluted legs are on brass castors. There is wonderful ormolu brass work at the top of the legs, round the case and there is a pull out drawer..when these pianos were converted they were often referred to as ladies desks. A fabulous piece for your entrance way or in a lounge or formal room. James Nutting was born circa 1747.
