A wonderful 18th century English Westmoreland oak press/marriage cupboard with central frieze carved with stylised scrolls, the initials ‘MW’ and the date 1772. This piece is like a chest on chest in that it comes apart into an upper and lower section. The planked top features a pair of panelled doors flanking a double central panel. Beneath are a second pair of quadruple panelled doors enclosing a shelf. It is flanked by turned supports, rising on block feet, and features original pegged construction.
