In Christianity, the lamb represents Christ as both suffering and triumphant; it is typically a sacrificial animal, and may also symbolize gentleness, innocence, and purity. The solid brass plate on which a bible can be displayed shows a hand-engraved cross. The stand is raised on lion paw feet.
